Install HomeWorks via CD

HomeWorks can be installed on most Windows-based (XP/Vista/Win7) computers.  The installation process can take around 10-15 minutes depending on your computer and internet connection.  Also, if you are installing on Vista or Windows 7, additional settings may need to be configured.

Currently, only the most recent version of HomeWorks can be installed.  Installing from a version 5.1 or version 6 CD will cause errors during some parts of the installation.  Before installing, make sure all running programs are closed, and have your Serial Number and Key ready.

Installing HomeWorks

Insert the HomeWorks 7 CD into your CD Drive.  A window will appear asking if you want to run the Setup.exe program.  Click Run to begin the installation.

The Wyldfyre Setup Wizard window will appear.  Click Next to move onto the next screen.

Enter in your User and Company Name. HomeWorks will also ask for your Serial Number and KeyThis information is case-sensitive, so please enter the characters as they appear on the label.  Click Next after entering in your information.

A License Agreement will appear that  has to be accepted in order to continue.  HomeWorks will also prompt you for a few installation settings.  Generally, you will want to keep the default settings.  Click Next to move onto the next step.

You will be asked to enter in the Site Code.  Our Site Code is in all Capital letters.  Please enter REIL for the Site Code.

Select your Internet Connection.  Most modern connections will use the last option — “I connect to the internet using a Cable Modem, DSL, or a local area network”.

HomeWorks will then go through the process of installing on your computer.  When it completes it may prompt you to install eNeighborhoods.  Please choose No, as there is no need to install eNeighborhoods with your HomeWorks software.  The necessary portions from eNeighborhoods will install during a later part of the installation.

If you have installed HomeWorks on a Windows XP computer, then please skip to the Intializing and Setting Up HomeWorks section.

Vista and Windows 7 Compatibility

If you have installed on a Vista or Windows 7 computer, you will need to configure additional Compatibility settings.

From your Desktop, right-click on the Wyldfyre 7 Office icon, then click Properties.

On the Properties window, click the Compatibility tab.

Check the option to Run this program in compatibility mode for:. Make sure that Windows XP (Service Pack 3) is selected in the drop-down menu.

Check the option to Run this program as an Administrator.

Click OK at the bottom of the window.

HomeWorks should now be setup for compatibility with your Vista or Windows 7 computer.

Initializing and Setting Up HomeWorks

On your first time running HomeWorks after installation, you will be prompted to Initialize the program.  The Initialization process will update HomeWorks to the most current version.

Click Initialize to start downloading the update files.  HomeWorks will prompt you for your User Name and Password.  Your User Name is usually your complete 8-digit DRE#.  If you do not know your password, please refer to our Forgot Password page.

Depending on your internet connection, the download may take a few moments.  Most high-speed connections should finish the download within about 5 minutes.

Once the download is complete, HomeWorks will uncompress and install the updated files.  This process is mostly automated, though you may be prompted to install some Microsoft assembly libraries.  These files are required for HomeWorks to run properly.

Once Initialization is complete, HomeWorks will start and you can begin setting up the program

Upon your first time starting HomeWorks, you will be prompted to provide your User Name.  Because this is a new installation, HomeWorks will not find you in its database.  You will be prompted to Add User.  Click Yes to add yourself to the User List.

A window will appear that will ask you to enter your Primary Agent Information.

The Primary Agent is the main HomeWorks user on this computer.  The information you provide here will appear on HomeWorks reports and print-outs.

You can setup an Email Signature to appear on all emails sent out from the HomeWorks program.  You can also upload your Agent Photo if you have one handy.  This information can be updated at a later time, but if you have a few moments, it’s generally a good idea to take the time to setup your information.

Click Next to add your Office Information, and alternatively a Secondary Agent.

Click Finish to end the setup and begin using HomeWorks.
