How To: Map Search

1. click on the “Search” tab
2. Select your category (example: SFT/Townhouse/Condo)
3. Enter your criteria (example: status, class, price, property description, etc)
4. Click on “Map Search”
5. Zoom in by entering an address, city, or zip code and click on “Locate” This will place a pin for the center of that city, zip or specific address
Draw the areas that you want results in. You can either draw a rectangle, circle or a polygon
To draw a rectangle, click on “Draw Rectangle”. For a circle (radius) search, click on “Draw Radius”. For a polygon (your own shape) search, click on “Draw Polygon”.
To start drawing a shape, click on the “Draw…”. This will turn your cursor into a “+”. Place your cursor for the center of your radius or your starting point for the rectangle or polygon search.
6. Drawing a rectangle: click on “Draw Rectangle” You cursor will turn into a “+” when you hover over the map. Take your cursor on the map of your starting point. Hold down your cursor and drag in any direction to start drawing your rectangle. When you have the shape that you want let go of the click and the shape will freeze on the map
7. Drawing a radius: click on “Draw Radius”. You cursor will turn into a “+” when you hover over the map. Take your cursor on the map where you want the center of the circle to be. Hold down your cursor and drag in any direction away from the center point. You will notice as you go further away from the center the miles will start to appear letting you know you are 1mile away from the center so essentially you are doing a 1 mile radius. Once you are satisfied with your radius, let go of the click and the circle will freeze on the map
8. Drawing a polygon: click on “Draw Polygon”. You cursor will turn into a “+” when you hover over the map. Take your cursor on the map of your starting point and click ONCE. Go to your next point and click ONCE. Go to your next point and click ONCE. Keep repeating this step to freeze as many points that you want. To finish it, connect the last point with the first point OR right click (for Apple users hold down your “Control” key and click at the same time).
9. When you are done drawing out your areas, click on “OK” located on the right of the map
